Jakarta Wins Climate Action Award at World Cities Summit in Singapore

Jakarta Provincial Government gets Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) A List 2023 together with other cities in the world. Jakarta is the only city/region of Indonesia winning the award.

It is the highest score

The award was received by Jakarta Regional Secretariat's Economy and Monetary Assistant, Sri Haryati who represented Jakarta Provincial Government at World Cities Summit 2024 meeting in Singapore on June 2-4, 2024.

The CDP A List is an award for groups of cities that have received the highest scores for transparency and bold climate action, and celebrates achievements, vision and commitment to fighting climate change.

C. Jakarta Administration Optimistic to Win National Proklim

"Alhamdulillah, and thanks to Acting Jakarta Governor's direction, Jakarta got Score A. It is the highest score during reporting on the implementation of the 2023 City Climate Action through the CDP-ICLEI (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives) platform. Cities that get this score are considered to have built climate momentum, taking four times more climate mitigation and adaptation actions than cities that are not included in the list of A Score recipients," she said, as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Wednesday (6/5).

Through this award, continued Sri, Jakarta can show its commitment to implementing sustainable development that is climate friendly. Jakarta has been recognized by CDP as a city that is firm in environmental action and transparent, amidst the challenging global economic situation.

"We also express our gratitude to all Jakarta residents who have played a role in making this city greener and more sustainable. Let's together raise awareness in fighting the climate crisis and contribute more to the future of our earth," she concluded.
